Welcome to my e-portfolio, initially opened for EDC 220 at Augsburg College. I'm now using it as an access point for my other web sites. I hope you find what you're looking for without too much trouble! :) My original goal in life was to be a research scientist. I love science (I'm a huge geek), and I enjoy research. While I was in grad school at the U, I became a lab teaching assistant to help pay tuition and bills. At that point I had never even considered teaching, because I do not like public speaking. However, I have always enjoyed helping people, and I discovered that I love teaching (at least in a small classroom situation like I had in the labs I taught). What better way to combine and enjoy two of my greatest loves, science and helping people? I still enjoy research, but I like helping

students more. As important as I think teaching is, I think my family is even more important. For example, my niece has an amazing laugh, and I think this picture captures this as perfectly as you can without sound.
